Word to the wise: Just because you told someone else that you were going to commit a crime before you committed said crime, you can’t use that in your defense at trial.
According to a December 14 article in the Daily Record, Harvey Nusbaum and Jack W. Stollof, accused of bid-ridding in tax sale auctions, actually tried this defense — thankfully it didn’t work. The two are scheduled to stand trial on March 1.
