Thanks again to “Reader Rusty” for sending this picture and info — Rusty also asks an interesting question, one that echoes something I’ve often wondered about.

“So, while John Reiff is potentially losing two properties on the 500 block of N Montford, he’s still allowed to purchase this property, just two blocks down, through receivership for $5,000. What the [ahem] is wrong with this picture?”

Good question. Why does the city allow bad property owners to purchase more and more property, only to allow it to rot? I understand the city is short of cash…but really? There should be a “Do Not Sell To” list, for property owners who aren’t making improvements to their properties.
