SB1063 would allow the state to create a task force to study deceptive real estate practices in Maryland.

We’re behind this 100%, provided real solutions come out of the study, and we’re particularly interested in what the task force comes up with in regard to “transparency in entity formation regarding real estate related enterprises”.  In other words, we’re hoping the task force finds the practice of slumlords setting up multiple shell LLCs to be a deceptive practice, and we hope the task force recommends this practice should be stopped in Maryland.

We also hope the task force takes a hard look at the practice of buying overdue ground rent payments, resulting in people being forced from their homes.
