As we posted earlier, City Council President Jack Young introduced the Non-Owner-Occupied Dwellings and Vacant Structures Bill to the City Council, and it officially passed on the 14th.  Many thanks to Council President Young for this measure, and thanks also to sponsors Robert W. Curran, William H. Cole, IV, Sharon Green Middleton, Bill Henry, James B. Kraft, and Warren Branch for supporting this important measure towards reclaiming some of the lost revenue caused by slumlords.

“The time has come for the owners of these vacant and unsafe properties that litter our city to get their act together and do their part,” City Council President Young said. “They will no longer receive a free pass for the burden they have inflicted on our residents and our city’s overall image.”
