MDE’s Lead Poisoning Prevention Program coordinates statewide efforts to eliminate childhood lead poisoning. Under the 1994 “Reduction of Lead Risk in Housing Law,” MDE assures compliance with mandatory requirements for lead risk reduction in rental units built before 1950, maintains a statewide listing of registered and inspected units, and provides blood lead surveillance through a registry of test results of all children tested in Maryland.
The following property owners were fined for lead paint violations in Baltimore City:

- Esperanza Banks
- Anthony E. Kirkland
- Bryant A. Pagan

- Lydia Mills
- Jonathan Wade
- 1645 N. Calhoun Holdings, LLC (Resident Agent, Joseph Chetrit. Corporate office address: 900 Bestgate Road, Suite 200, Annapolis, MD 21401
- Marble Hall Holdings, LLC (Corporate address, 4300 Marble Hall Road, Baltimore, MD 21218)
There were a total of 52 properties affected, and a total of $251,500 in fines. We continue to applaud MDE Secretary Shari T. Wilson and her staff, along with the Attorney General, for making housing safe for children in Baltimore City.
